I like to make this easy summer drink (that is healthy for you!) that only uses a few ingredients. It is refreshing, nourishing and immune boosting, plus it is packed with delicious flavor that comes from the healthy contents in the drink.
Sometimes you just crave something sweet and fruity to drink. Especially when it is hot outside. This drink is an excellent thirst quencher and not only that, but provides amazing wholesome nutrients for you at the same time. When my husband is out mowing on hot summer evenings, I’ll make up this easy summer drink (that is healthy for you!) and bring it out to him. He really likes that!

Everyone should likely be drinking more water especially in the hot summer months. Making up this drink mix is very easy and a great way to get your water intake in for the day, in a delicious way!
A great time to drink this is when you feel the onset of a cold coming on and are fighting off sickness. The baobab powder in this drink has excellent immune boosting qualities.
Also, if you are pregnant, the nutrients and vitamins found in baobab are great supporters of your body during the pregnancy stage. (See below for more detailed list).
In this easy summer drink I use:
True Lemon drink packets The fun thing about these packets is that there are so many flavor options! Strawberry, wild berry, mango, lemonade just to name a few. My personal favorite are the strawberry mixed with lemonade or the peach. You can find this brand on Amazon or in most grocery stores.
Baobab Powder (sourced from Trim Healthy Mama)
Apple Cider Vinegar or Lemon Juice
Ice
optional additional liquid stevia
Health Benefits of this easy summer drink:
The True Lemon drink mixes are healthy and only made with a few ingredients. There are no harsh chemicals or preservatives in them. The amount of sweetener is very minimal and mostly comes from Stevia leaf
Baobab powder is:
- rich in important vitamins and minerals
- may aid in weight loss by promoting feelings of fullness
- may help balance blood sugar levels
- antioxidant content may reduce inflammation
- high fiber content may promote digestive health
- is an incredible superfood
There is also some (minimal) research showing that baobab may be linked to hormone balancing. (Woohoo!)
Baobab contains three vital nutrients: vitamin B6, vitamin C, and niacin. These nutrients play an important role in boosting progesterone and cleaning the liver of excess estrogens.
There are many ways to consume baobab powder. If you are familiar with the Trim Healthy Mama eating plan, then you probably already have several of the delicious recipes! If you haven’t looked into baobab yet, I encourage you to try it out!
Whenever I am fighting off a cold, I make up some of this drink since baobab has incredible immune boosting qualities in it.

Apple cider vinegar:
There are so many reasons to drink ACV! If you are not taking it regularly then you should give this drink a try.
You won’t even notice the zing of the ACV in this drink.
Below I will list several common (and some uncommon) health benefits of ACV.
- It may help lower blood pressure,
- helps to balance the bodies pH levels
- aids digestion
- can help relieve severe acne symptoms
- contains proteins, enzymes and healthy bacteria from the fermentation process
- raw apple cider vinegar contains antioxidants that are very healthy for the body
- can strengthen your immune system
- regulates blood sugar
- is a great body cleanse
- contains potassium
- contains magnesium
- contains calcium
- contains phosphorus
When I was expecting our first I had severe heart burn in the third trimester. I told my midwife about it and she suggested I try a little ACV in some water before bed at night (the heartburn was the worst during the night). It had no pill-miracle effect but I did notice at times it really helped to take the intensity of the discomfort and acidity away.
If you struggle with severe heartburn and acid, I suggest trying this natural remedy. You can try it a few times and if you don’t notice positive results then that is fine and don’t feel like you need to keep taking it. (My personal experience. Always check with your doctor).
How to make this easy summer drink (that is healthy for you)
- one packet drink mix flavor of choice
- 1 scant tablespoon of baobab powder
- 1-3 teaspoons apple cider vinegar (depending on how strong it is for you)
- Optional additional drops of liquid stevia (if you want it sweeter)
Add all ingredients to a jar or large glass of choice. (These amounts will likely be too strong for a regular drinking glass. A quart jar or drink bottle works best).
Add ice till about half full then top with water. Shake vigourously or stir well. Little clumps from the baobab powder will probably be there. That is normal and ok.
Sip and enjoy!
You can make this ahead of time and have ready to go in the fridge.
My favorite drink bottles and tops:
Wide mouth plastic jar covers with straw opening
Regular mouth plastic jar covers with straw opening (small mouth) – MOST POPLUAR
Bamboo large glass drinking jars
